a little GOOD KARMA!

July 15, 2012

Hey guys. Breakfast this morning was literally coffee. So I decided to show you something I’m really loving right now.

Good Karma Flax Milk.

It’s filled with omega-3’s. You go get those healthy fats!

It’s really wonderful in coffee, just like soy milk and not like almond milk. Blech.

It’s a personal choice, but I make a big effort to limit the amount of soy I consume. Which is pretty hard since I don’t eat dairy. My grandma on my Mom’s side died of breast cancer that metastasized into bone cancer. There has been increasing links between soy consumption and cancer. It’s something that I try and limit for my own good health.

Flax milk is by far my favorite milk substitute. Almond milk is my second choice but it’s not good in hot beverages since it congeals, gross.

Enjoy your Sunday mornings friends!!!

TELL ME ABOUT YOU!!! I WANT TO KNOW…

What is your favorite milk substitute?

I am worried about my soy consumption as well, but I really do love tofu. I stopped eating it for a few months, but I recently started eating it again. Gah!

Never heard of flax milk! I love vanilla unsweetened almond breeze! It’s my favorite milk swap!

I’ve been looking into milk substitutes more and more lately. I’m lactose intolerant but I loooove milk. I’ve been taking Lactaid pills for a while now, which really help, but I’ve been noticing how bloated they end up making me feel and I hate it.

I haven’t yet found a milk substitute that I can stand the taste of with cereal, though. I’ve buy almond milk sometimes and it’s okay. I like it in smoothies and stuff like that, but I just can’t drink it straight or even have it with cereal. I haven’t tried soy milk before. I think it’s awesome that you made a choice not to drink soy milk because of your family history :)

Another problem is how expensive milk substitutes are. Ugh! But maybe I’ll try flax milk next time, if I see it in the store!

They are so much more expensive! That’s funny because I love the taste of almond milk in cereal way better than milk. Keep trying different ones, they all taste a little different.

I’ve never had Flax milk! I’ll have to give it a try. I’m a big almond milk fan…especially in smoothies!

I love coconut milk. It’s so delicious! I’ve never seen flax milk.

I’m totally with you on limiting soy consumption. Lots of it in the US is genetically modified, too. YUCK!

almond milk is all I drink anymore, and mostly only in smoothies. I haven’t had real milk since….I can’t even remember.

So, I actually tried this flax milk but I tried the unsweetened kind. It was… ok. I am still a lover of almond milk unsweetened (I know not your cup of tea). I actually don’t shop at a place that sells this flax milk but I definitely want to try it again when I find it. The one thing I love about both almond and flax milk is the amount of healthy fat you get without even trying or consuming a ton of calories overall. The benefits totally make it appealing!

I haven’t had the unsweetened but the Vanilla one is really good and if you put it in coffee it doesn’t need any sweetner, which I love.
