About Me
Hey. I’m Maren and I’m the blogger over here on Maren’s Morsels. I’m 25 years old. A 150% true Californian. I’m a little quirky. I’m addicted to dark chocolate and peanut butter (together mostly, but not required). And I have an elliptical fetish.
I started this blog a log time ago… January 2010 to be exact and when I started it I wasn’t a very focused blogger. Sometimes I worked out and sometimes I didn’t. I tried healthy/un-healthy diets and other times I ate skittles… lots and lots of skittles.
I blogged a ton in 2012, basically about my attempts to lead a healthy life. After a year of working out, running a 1/2 marathon and eating insanely healthy to get a medical condition under control I decided to take a step back. 2013 is all about maintaining my new leaner body, learning how to cook, and enjoying life.
I don’t live my life like healthy living is black and white. I definitely still eat skittles, and I do eat dark chocolate every single day. We only live once right? Plus different things work for different people.
For some people focusing on clean-nutritious eats is the way to go and I love reading all about it! For me, I like eating healthy but I definitely still want my beer, chicken wings, and the occasional bowl of mac and cheese. I like working out when I want to work out, but I’m perfectly happy and content skipping the gym and taking a long walk with my puppy, Donner. Everyone is different and this is how I like living a healthy & happy life.
I hope you enjoy my little blog. All you guys rock! And I love hearing from you. Thanks for stopping by.

This page made me laugh! I love your upbeat attitude, and I can definitely relate to the not 100% healthful eater “syndrome.” I always count my nightly cookies towards better psychological health :-)
Thanks for stopping by! Cookies are like therapists!
Your blog is awesome! I also work with my family! woohoo. haha
Working with family is like 98% fun and 2% stress that makes me want to die! LOL. But they’re family, gotta love ‘em ;-)
Hi Maren! Love your blog and your life philosophy, it’s also awesome that you’re a fellow Canadian. Can’t wait to snoop around and follow your posts! Have a great weekend.
I was following you on twitter but didn’t think to look for your blog! So happy you commented on mine! Excited to read more!
I’m 8 ways of excited about yours. I like finding blog people near where I live.
This page made me LOL, but really. Thank you for being so honest ( and funny ) about everything!! It’s so inspiring and helping me keep on track with my goals!
I’m glad you stopped by my little blog! I really love yours and can’t wait to read more.
Maen,
I found your blog because one of your entries is now used in a course I teach. You have a great sense of humor and great writing. I hope the students will lear a thing or two about health from you.
Silvia
Thats great! I hope you find it helpful.
Justpopped over from Janes blog to see another fellow CA blogger. I like your writing style and the feel of your blog. Definitely gong to be following you now. Inspiring me to get back to my own blogging. I am an artist as well and would love to know the details of what you do at the print making business. :)
Yay! Thanks for stopping by. I can’t wait to delve into your’s.
Hi Maren!! It’s so great to meet you and your blog seems to be purty awesome~:D What part of Cali do you live in?!! I’m in socal near LA. And your health philosophy seems to be right on. It’s good to be really healthy, but be flexible because that ends up being good for our minds.
I live near Monterey. Thanks for stopping by my little blog. You sound super fun. I can’t wait to check out your blog.
I LOVE your philosophy of “What works for you” I am still grasping this but it will come!
You will! It took me a while. Just keep trying things until they’re the right move for you!
Sorry if this comment got posted twice, my internet went on the fritz…. Anyway, I was looking for nearby Sweat Pink Ambassadors (I just applied, hoping I become one!) and found your blog! I’m a grad student at Moss Landing Marine Labs (and live in ML).
Glad I found your blog and can’t wait to check it out!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA! New fav blog ;) You are a burst of freshness, Maren! <3
I saw that Meg’s blog got a makeover and total had to check out who did the work, glad I did! Your story is so touching to me because I’ve had so many “health hiccups” over the past few years and most recently was diagnosed with IBS. So happy I stopped by ;)
I’m so glad you stopped by too! IBS is so hard to deal with, I hope you have lots of success getting your symptoms under control, and quickly.
Maren, I’ve just discovered your blog and am so blessed to have done so! I love your story and philosophy and will be sure to keep checking out what you’re up to!
