After BBQ on Fridays all of us trek over to Peninsula Bakery for cookies. How can you have BBQ without a cookie to wash it all down with?
Well today our bakery was cleaned out of cookies. :shock: So we improvised… cupcake style. ;-)
We went to A Piece of Cake, our local cupcakery. I instantly had my eye on this blueberry cupcake.
I didn’t know what to expect… would it be like a vanilla cake with blueberries?
No! It was a blueberry muffin. A blueberry muffin with whipped cream on top (in frosting disguise of course.
I swear… no joke… this is the best cupcake I’ve ever had!
It was light and refreshing. Perfect after BBQ dessert.
My birthday is on Tuesday and I might have to recreate them… with candles on top, duh.

You should find some bbq place in DC (right?) and hit it up on Fridays. I promise you, it WILL change your life… for the better.
Oo! That looks delicious. We love Gigi’s cupcakes!! So. Much. Frosting!!!!!! My fave. :) I’m not crazy about bacon so much, so I probably wouldn’t go for that flavor.
Yeah they had a bacon chocolate cupcake at A Piece of Cake today with a chocolate dipped strip of bacon on top. I’m not feelin’ it.

up here there are several cupcakeries like Sprinkles which is okay, but the f …. I know of two others one in Santana Row and the other off the Alameda near downtown San Jose , near J Lor Winery. Mmmm that’d be a good day. Cupcakes and wine.
