Boy, how life has changed!!

January 8, 2013

Hi guys. Happy Tuesday morning.

If you missed out on the Rustic Chicken Noodle Soup recipe, from Top Chef Universityclick here!

It was delicious and it’ll teach you how to POACH something. ;-)

Donner, has kinda changed my life in some pretty big ways. For one, he’s turned me into a morning person. This has caused for many grouchy mornings and an increase in my coffee consumption but I’m coming to realize that it’s all pretty fun. Watching the sun come up is actually pretty cool.

This is our normal morning routine…

6:20- Donner wakes up and then wakes me up by body slamming himself against the side of  my bed, always closest to my face.

6:30- we get up, go outside then take a little road trip. I’m teaching him to love riding in the car.

6:45- we go by Starbucks for some coffee and maybe a breakfast sandwich. Donner has already learned not to attack me while eating and drinking. Such a good puppy.

Well… he’s mostly learned.

6:50- We ride back home from Starbucks. Donner loves looking out the window. Then by 7am we go for a long 2 mile walk.

Donner is kinda a sidewalk hog… I’m trying to not take it personally.

After our walk, which takes almost 2 hours these days due to all the sniffing, we come home and

  • shower
  • change
  • get all packed up

And we end up at the office by 9:30.

BREAKFAST!!! I couldn’t resist.

Tell me about you!! I want to know…

Are you a morning person?

Not naturally.

Have you tried any of the new Vanilla inspired Starbucks coffee drinks?

I had the vanilla blonde this morning and LOVED it!

Do you have a morning routine?

What was one of your resolutions for 2013?

Cook more!

I miss when Barkley was such a small puppy… now he is a big furbeast that still thinks he can fit on my lap. :) I am a morning person, unless it’s after a night out, haha

Donner thinks he’s a lap dog. The vet thinks hes going to be around 85-90 pounds… that’s not going to work!

I’m glad Donner has made you so happy! Dogs are seriously the best, it’s hard to feel sad or down when you have an excited, hyper puppy at your side all the time.

And I totally feel your pain on the early morning thing. I don’t think Eloise has let me sleep past 7:30 (no matter how hard I try she never seems to realize when it’s the weekend) since we got her over a year ago. But there are certainly worse things to wake up to than a sweet doggy face. :)

Ugg… so he wont start sleeping in once he gets past his puppy stage?!?! Good-by 8am and hello sunrise!

Ahh love the puppy! My mornings are all about Sophie now too! I’m actually a morning person but I hate nights. I can never stay up late!

I can’t stay up past 10 anymore. I used to be a night owl.

Your instagram pics make me smile! My lab died three years ago, so its cute to see yours!

I’m not a early bird, nor a night owl, but I consider myself a afternoon moose. LOL my morning routine consists of me loving my cat, and hauling booty to get to work on time.

Aww I’m so sorry to hear about your puppy elyse. That’s really sad. I’m glad you like seeing pictures of Donner, and I’m totally stealing your phrase “afternoon moose”. LOL. Too great!!

Luckily, David deals with Ryder most mornings since he usually wakes up before me.

I get up, shower, get ready for work, eat breakfast while reading blogs, and then off to work! Week day mornings are super quick!

I just read your vet thinks Donner will be 85-90 pounds. That’s a lot! Ryder went yesterday bc he has an ear infection. :( And he’s only 61 pounds. Thank god! Less food to feed him = less money spent on food. lol.

Yeah, the vet (and everyone who sees him) says “ohh he’s so pretty” then “and he’s going to be biiiggggg.” LOL. I’m getting scared.

I’m definitely not normally a morning person, but I WISH I was. And if I wake up early naturally (very rarely), I do like it. Eventually I’m going to work on this… maybe I need to get myself a doggie alarm clock ;)

I agree and I’m pretty sure he’s just about the ONLY thing that would get me up that early, lol.
