Yesterday we had the most fun on our Beach Adventure. It all started with some DEE-lish scrambled egg muffins. Then, after some blogging and puppy tug of war the family picked up my Nonni for a fancy lunch over in Monterey. The 27th is my Pa’s birthday and Nonni really wanted to do something a little extra special to celebrate.
We ate at Paradiso, a fun seafood restaurant on Cannery Row that hangs out over the surf. It’s owned by the famous chef John Pisto and he regularly makes appearances in the kitchen. I had one of the specials, the lobster sandwich. And we tried 2 appetizers, the pesto bruchetta and some bbq sardines that came with a tomato-ey sauce that had golden raisins and fennel in it. Everything was tasty and I left feeling really stuffed.
My Pa loved having treats after meals so we headed across the street to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Co. in honor of him. Sea salted carmel!!
After lunch we drove about 20 minutes south through Carmel to Garrapata State Beach so Donner could play in the water.
Donner hasn’t really loved the water yet. So we really wanted to expose him to the beach again. Hopefully he’d like it this time.
He did! He just sauntered right down to the surf and dove in. Such a Lab!
Donner LOVES the beach! He played in the water. He ate about a million pieces of seaweed. He met a Pomeranian, who he humped a little. It was a good doggy day. So good that we napped all evening.
YAY PUPPY PLAY DATES!!!
