Hey guys, guess what!
I just graduated from Physical Therapy!
After 18 weeks…
36 visits
62 hrs
2 surgical procedures
12 weeks of 1 on 1 couch bonding 24/7
1 reconstructed joint
3 pins and
2 inches of wire
I’ve graduated from PT! I’m “officially” recovered and ready to go.
So what now
I’m not actually done with recovery. My therapist says I’ll still be recovering until around the year anniversary of the surgery (August 13th 2011). I’m still going to Physical Therapy a few times a week, but I won’t be receiving treatment from John anymore. I’m to go and do cross training. I still have a list of strengthening exercises I have to do to.
But not needing therapy anymore is a huge step! I’m really excited. Plus I have a really great gym membership. I’m a member of Fit Plan at the therapist’s office. I go, pay 5 dollars and get to workout for as long as I want. They have free weights, cable weights, bosu balls, elipticals, stationary bikes, and treadmills. I’ll be doing my list of therapy exercises but I also get a “gym”. It’s awesome!
Coffee Break
My Coffee Break actually included some coffee. It feels more… right.
I magically, seriously don’t know how I did it, found about an hour and a half to read before classes. So I’m posting from Borders in Down Town Santa Cruz. I’m sipping an iced coffee with non-fat milk and reading really deep articles on Bureaucratic-Authoritarian Governments. Bleh!
I also enjoyed some celery and Milton’s whole wheat crackers dipped in hummus for my snack/mid-morning mini meal.
This was a huge and filling snack. I had 4 TBSP Roasted Garlic Hummus with celery sticks and crackers. The whole this is 300 calories. Wow! This is a great mini meal. Small, satisfying and delicious.
Lunch
I packed lunch today except for my Icelandic Skyr which I stopped and picked up at the market. Siggis is definitely my favorite yogurt to date.
I made a pb, half moon, ant sandwich on a Nature Valley whole wheat bread butt. This is my favorite childhood adult snack in sandwich form. Ants on a Log… Meet bread!
I can’t wait to eat it. I think it’ll be delicious.
Hope your having a great Friday.
Question of the day

Yay! Congrats on graduating from therapy! I know that this has been such a long journey for you. I’m so happy to see your progress (and I know you are happier!) I think I’m going to copy your hummus meal. It sounds just perfect right now. Thanks for sharing, sweet lady!
Yay congratulations!!
First and foremost, congrats on pt graduation!! wooot! Secondly, but still very important, I’m happy to see you added actual coffee to your coffee break. :)
My Friday sweet (which is actually Saturday here in Japan) was a cheese-puff roll thing from the bakery…soooo good.
