Oh my gosh! Today was the craziest! My Dad and I trekked 3.5 hours (one way) up to the bay area to buy an industrial strength tri-tip smoker!!
The day started off with 1 bowl of Cinnamon Chex with almond milk. But I have zero will power when it comes to cereal (for some unexplained reason) and had a second bowl despite my tummy yelling that it was full. Cereal……. why?!
The Pops saw an add on Craig’s List yesterday, that was literally too good to be true. A $6500 dollar smoker for $1200 almost brand new?! Well, we figured it’d be long gone since the add was posted on Tuesday of last week. But the seller e-mailed back this morning and we were in the car driving the 177 miles by noon.
We couldn’t go without enjoying a smoked tri-tip lunch….
I licked all the juice off this cardboard………….. just so I can go to bed knowing I didn’t keep any secrets today. ;-)
I think I ate my weight in tri-tip. ITS SO GOOD! Holy Moses!!
This is Dad’s “what are you doing????” face. He clearly hasn’t been on too many car trips with me because the in-car-while-driving is one of my classic photo ops.
I’m such a tourist in my own area because I definitely whipped out my Nikon to photo the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s just so cool.
We arrived in Healdsberg just in time since the seller man was leaving at 3:55 and we pulled up at 3:50.
We bought it on the spot! It’s exactly what was promised in the ad and we got the deal of a lifetime.
I told my dad I could fit in it and did so, but he was so embarrassed that he refused to take a picture. I know where the ultimate hide-and-seek hiding spot is now……………..
It squeezed into the back of the van, luckily. I’m pretty sure I’d be riding home on the roof if it didn’t……….. Dad was one happy camper!!
The bad news was that we hit massive 5pm traffic. Traffic makes me kinda crazy……………….
We stopped for celebratory Chipotle for dinner. Total SCORE!! Worth the 7 hours in the car for sure. ;-)

Sounds like a pretty fun day minus the traffic! I totally take pictures of the GGB when I’m not driving too. Been over it 100 times and I still do it. haha.

i dont wear much jewelry..but i guess my favorite piece is the heart bracelet i have from kevin from our first xmas together..i’ve never taken it off, its with me all the time ;) (probably bc i would lose it the moment i took it off)
traffic used to make me super anxious bc my car would overheat when idle for too long…and even with the new car i find myself not able to break that habit..hopefully soon right?
Omg. This makes me worried while in traffic so much more. Car troubles on the high way is 10 ways of scary!
