I Finally Dunked in my Doughnut!

October 30, 2010

Good morning, it feels nice to wake up with the sun shining. I was supposed to work this morning but my ankle wasn’t having it. I can barely walk and my physical therapist recommended me only working one day a week for a while, my usual times are Friday and Saturday mornings. I’m a little sad but this is on of those things that you just know you can’t do it. It doesn’t matter how much I push through it or try to get it out of my mind, when I walk and I feel the pain I know I simply can’t… yet. I’ll be fully healed one day and then I’ll be able to do anything and everything as much or as many days in a row as I want.

Walmart

That’s right people, I finally broke down and paid the 8ish dollars to try the holy grail of American Coffees.

But Maren, why haven’t you tried this coffee before now? It is everywhere after all.

I’m sort of a coffee snob. When I don’t like a coffee, I really don’t like it. So I have a hard time paying more than about 6 dollars when I don’t know if I’ll like it. Plus I can get Starbucks or Seattle’s Best for $6.50, why mess with it when it ain’t broke? Also, there is no Dunkin Doughnuts anywhere near me so I haven’t been able to just try a cup either.

Anyways, last night we went to the Walmart to find certain summertime pool toys made out of brightly colored foam… remember this?

And we did a little browsing through the new grocery section. I’m super impressed, they have some of the best priced baking ingredients and they have gourmet items too like Justin’s Peanut Butter. I didn’t buy too much but I couldn’t resist splurging a little for these…

Can you believe Walmart had Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Laras? I know, me neither. Back to the coffee story; I stood there in front of all the usual suspects Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, Foldgers, The one with the SF bridge on the front in the black bag and of course Dunkin Doughnuts.

The cinnamon spice flavor really caught my eye and I said to myself I have to try it sometime so I bought it. I was so excited to break into it this morning. We’re having a family breakfast in a minute or two (I should definitely be getting ready) but I just had to try my new coffee.

Holy Delicious! Cinnamon Spice is probably the best flavored coffee (home brew) I’ve ever had! I think I might be a Seattle’s Best and Dunkin Doughnuts girl when it comes to coffee. On my next road trip or vacation I’m going to scope out a genuine Dunkin Doughnuts shop to try some from in house.

Confession: I have never had Dunkin Donuts anything.
I grew up in a place where Dunkin Donuts was to coffee and donuts what McDonald’s is to restaurants. I was born and bred to not love it.
I may have to try this flavor though…

I thought that too. Why would coffee from a doughnut shop be so great? But I really liked the Cinnamon Spice flavor, break down and taste a little bit ;-)

So now I just might have to go to Walmart. I had no idea they had Lara bars! I adore Dunkin Donut coffee (we used to drink it all the time on the east coast). Thank you for sharing…I’m sorry I’ve been a bit absent these last few days…we are just dealing with so much with baby Ryan. Have a beautiful weekend!

Definitely go! I grew up being told Walmart was the worst thing ever and now I’m all about the grocery section, they have the best prices on baking ingredients in my area. I hope baby ryan is getting better. I’m thinking and praying for your whole family.
