I hate cutting people!

November 7, 2011

I really do love coaching basketball…. almost as much as playing basketball. But the day I loath with every fiber of my being is Cuts Day!

Today was Cuts Day.

And I’m beat! 19 girls and 16 uniforms means 3 hearts broken and countless tears cried. Some of which were my own. I think everyone who wants to play such an awesome sport should get to play!!

My Dad made his legendary smoked Tri-Tip today for lunch so I was a really good gluten/dairy free person and planned ahead. ;-)

I took 2 slices of toasted Udi’s GF bread and a spinach salad with honey dijon dressing, almond slices and cranberries with me. Then I added the tri-tip to my bread. Such a filling lunch. I’m actually pretty surprised with myself.

Mid afternoon I enjoyed a bag of Skittles. I swear Skittles try to escape being eaten and I’m diving under tables and through computer wires trying to catch them. Today it was all the orange ones…..

The sugar rush really helps me get through the day. I’m tired of feeling tired. :-(

Max is the best boyfriend ever and brings me Chipotle Chicken Bowls with no fajita veggies, sour cream, or cheese because he loves me despite my wack-o ways. Chipotle definitely cures the blues from cutting people and crushing their basketball dreams.

I actually found Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Soy Free Ice Cream!!!! Can you believe it?! It’s made from coconut milk and I’m in love. I actually like it a little more than regular ice cream. Oh the horror.

I found some pasturized almond milk yogurt at the market and I’m scared to try it. I love my yogurt so much!! I open the fridge grab the cup then frantically put it back and slam the fridge door shut. Then I run screaming while waving my hands above my head from the kitchen. It’s a mature fear………………

I’m in love with the ice cream. My boyfriend said he had it when he was in Hawaii last summer. I guess it’s the normal ice cream there and you get to eat it with a spoon made from coconut shell…..

I love skittles! So jealous. I gotta say, for not being able to eat much, it looks like you’re doing good because some of these eats are making me jealous!

Sucks about cutting people from the team. :( I didn’t know you were a coach, how awesome!

I don’t know if you have costa vida there, but they are WAY good with gluten-free restaurant food. I pretty much adore the salad!

Aww, I don’t! I’ve never even heard of it. Maybe I can find one in San Jose or San Francisco and make it a road trip this weekend. Anything for tasty gf restaurant food.

I’m sorry about cutting people. I don’t like that either and would have been in tears too. I wouldn’t be able to break the news to those three girls.

On the brighter side, I’m glad you are loving that new ice cream! It looks delish!!!

Yay! This post makes me happy! You totally have this food thing…:) I love coconut ice cream….picked up the van-bean and couldn’t put it down. Same with skittles…..that is why I can’t keep those around!
I can remember being in 7th grade and trying out for basketball. This was when everyone who tried out made it regardless off your athletic ability. There were probably 90 girls on that team!

Have a great night!
