A lot is going on in the lives of Maren, Maxwell and Donner. I’ve been so absent from blogging lately. I just couldn’t fall into a new habit of blogging with my new retail job. The hours are kinda crazy and always changing. For some reason, I had a really hard time fitting in blogging.
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!
well… we’re trying to buy a house. We found the cutest, most fun 1940′s house in a GREAT neighborhood in Vallejo, CA. It has a huge back yard filled with trees, we’re already calling it Donner’s Oasis. The sellers have accepted our offer and inspections and appraisals start next week.
WE’RE GOING ON VACATION!!!
Next Wednesday marks the first of 10 whole days Max and I have for vacation. We’re going to go up to his parents house near Chico, CA for about 5-6 days then we’re meeting my family in Tahoe for a week of relaxation.
I. CANNOT. WAIT.
I’m going to try and making blogging a priority.
Blogging really helps me get through the day. I know I fell out of habit with it but with a few of the big things going on right now I know I need it. I know blogging will help me deal with everything and keep my days feeling a little less out of control and a little more structured.
My Mom Has Cancer.
About 6 weeks ago we found out my mom has stage 1 ovarian cancer. She is so lucky. With the type of tumor they found the best form of treatment for her situation is to cut it out and find it early. Luckily, we did both. She recently decided that she wasn’t going to undergo the recommended round of chemo therapy. And, if I’m speaking honestly, I had a really hard time with it. I really wanted her to do chemo because it made it easier for me to deal with. It’s easier to say and cope when you know you did (or are doing) everything you could, you put the cancer in the hands of someone who is a professional and you tried everything that professional says to try.
I just wasn’t thinking about her. She has to choose what’s best for her situation and if that isn’t what she wants, I have to be okay with it. I’m working on being okay with it.
