Happy Thursday all, boy did I have an eventful morning. It felt so good to get out of the house and actually get out of the car when we got to the doctor’s office.

Say goodbye to the yucky surgical cast!

My mom thought I looked like a little person sitting on such a huge chair. I was really nervous because there were only 2 things I was fearing in this ankle reconstruction process. One was getting the nerve block right before surgery (which I chickened out of last minute) and two, getting the stitches removed, and this was the moment of stitches removal.

I didn’t like having my ankle all out and exposed, it felt open to things hurting it.

I won’t show a big picture of my stitches, but as soon as I saw them this happened!

Not liking it, don’t want to do it.

My stitches aren’t ready don’t take them out, please please please! I really didn’t think they looked ready, this wasn’t complete fear.

It must be my lucky day because the doctor agreed. 2 more weeks of stitches… wheew dodged that bullet. Look at my pretty cast!

We’re all good. I didn’t even know that my stitches on my knee are the dissolving kind. Such a morning filled with good news! NO STITCHES REMOVAL!

Back home from the adventure. My foot was ready to be pampered, good thing Jeffery was waiting for me.

Jeffery’s taking care of me this afternoon while my mom’s off at work. Hopefully some food to post tonight. I think Max is coming over and bringing the Holy Grail of boxed desserts… Duncan Heins Fudge Brownie Mix to add to my mint chocolate chips… holy delicious and can’t wait.
Have you ever had a cast?

Hey I wanted to check out your blog. I had no idea you had this crazy injury. I hope you feel better soon! I am excited to read more of your blog!
Love the bright purple cast! No, I have never had a cast! and I hope I never have to have one! but if I did…it would be bright pink
they have that color, no joke! It’s neon
I like your purple cast!
I have had 7 stitches in my head before and I promise that getting them removed is the least painful thing. You really can’t even feel it!
I have also broken my wrist and getting the cast off it the worst. It is the most painful part of the process, I think.
You are being such a champ!
thats what people say, taking out the stitches doesn’t hurt at all. I just can’t seem to wrap my head around it not hurting.
LOVE the purple cast!!
What a sexy little cast you have going on! You are a brave girl…I get squeamish just thinking about stitches (I was such a baby when Ryan had to get his finger sewn up). First day of grad school out of the way and I feel exhausted and completely intimidated.
yeah, I think I’ll pop a zanex for the next appointment. I thought i could do it without but once we were there I was rather nervous. Aww, sorry you’re intimidated. I always feel like that on the first day but once I get a few grades under my belt I feel better. I know everything will feel great at school soon!!!
Such good news! I can’t imagine getting stitching removed wouldn’t hurt either.
You poor thing, that cast was intense! Love the new purple one. Jeffrey is such a good little helper.
