Swollen Toes and Poppin’ Pills

September 5, 2010

Sunday Lunches are a given. My immediate family will always gather around 11:45, pick up my grandma and head off in search of a mid day meal.

Today the majority desired some Eatin’ Good in the Neighborhood flavors. I bet you all know where that is… Applebees!

I LOVE these pick ‘n pair lunches. I had French Dip Sliders with French Onion Soup. French Dips were one of the two things I had a really hard time giving up during my year of veggies.

We waited a long time, hence all the pictures. Finally the food came.

I LOVE French Dips! And of course I love these because they’re mini! :-D

Boy did I miss my French Dips! They tasted so amazing. The roast beef was cut very thin so it was easy to eat and the au jus had the perfect sodium level, I hate it when it’s too salty, and the buns were fluffy. Add in the slice of swiss and it was divine.

The French Onion soup was alright, but I ordered it knowing I didn’t want too much so I ate about a forth of it and then let the waiter take it. This soup was a little salty and was missing some depth of flavor. It was a little boring. :-(

Once lunch was over I snagged a celery stock from the appetizer tray, which I didn’t eat any of. I was craving some green.

After lunch My Grandma and Mom ran into Ross | Dress For Less to look for a beach-type bag for my grandma’s trip to Napa this week. While they did that the boys and myself ventured over to Best Buy to find a new camera case for my new camera and look at video games- blech! The bro. a little bit of a gamer.

I was happy because I got to do some crutching for exercise, and we found a case. Success!

We finished way before my the Bag shopping group. So we waited in the car for over 20 minutes! My ankle/ foot swelled up like crazy and started to throb. I was begging time to fly buy so I could get home. Look at my swollen little toes.

There aren’t even spaces between my toes anymore. I popped one of these and am feelin’ good now. I’m turning into a junkie?!

All’s good, here in Cali. We’re having great weather. Look how pretty it is out here.

What sandwich can’t you live without?

I’m obsessed with French Dips. I’ve tried them everywhere and I’m kinda a jus snob!

I’ve really never been a huge fan of meat based sandwiches (other than burgers), but I seriously loved a good eggplant parm or the classic grilled cheese. The amount of grilled cheese + egg sandwiches I eat in a year is kind of obscene.

I looove cheese sandwiches. I think it came from growing up in a house with a vegetarian Mom who always made us cheese sandwiches instead of lunch meat. I still love them!

Mini sandwiches sound perfect! I haven’t had a french dip in so long. I definitely think I’d go crazy with grilled cheese. Or maybe PB&J :) It’s the little kid in me I guess!

I love apple and brie sandwiches on multigrain bread…gosh, I’m drooling! What else makes me drool? French onion soup! Just delicious and something I haven’t had for awhile now. I love going to places where you can pick two different items…it makes my job easier! I hope you have a great day tomorrow sweet girl. I’m feeling for your toes!
