I finally did it. Max was supposed to run with me but he had an IT injury so I did the whole thing myself. I ran every step and I was the perfect way to start off our 2012 family vacation in Oregon.

 

Spreakles 4th of July 10K- Salinas, CA (7/4/2012)

time: ~1:06:00

Max saw this race on Active.com and we registered the night before. This was my first 10k and it was awesome!!! We ran through lettuce fields and a grove of Maple trees.

 

Heart & Soul Run/Walk 5k- Salinas, CA (5/19/2012)

time: ~34:00

This race was on my life’s bucket list of YEARS! It runs through my very own neighborhood and right by my house. It was a really fun, easy little run.

 

Habitat Home Run 5k- Chico, CA (2/11/2012)

time: 31:20

I still ran into 14th place in my age group with that time! This was by far my hardest 5k because I took off an entire week of fitness the week before. I definitely learned my lesson.

 

Frost or Fog 5k- Chico, CA (1/14/2012)

time: 29:30

This race was the first one that I got the Garmin Batteries Low memo right before the race! Even with slowing down right before the finish I still got 4th in my age group and ran under 10:00 min mile splits! SCORE!!

 

Rio Grille Resolution Run 5k- Carmel, CA (1/1/2012)

time: 35:08 (damn hill!)

What a great way to start of 2012 and my New Year’s Resolution to Get Fit in 2012! This race had the most killer hill I’ve ever ran up, but it was super fun and Max and I are hoping to make this race a yearly tradition.

 

Firefly 5k- San Jose, CA (10/16/2011)

This was my first distance race and it was so much fun!! Fun runs are the best way to get started racing. Everyone is so positive and there to cheer you on. Plus, you can dress up in fun running wear… like firebolt pants. :mrgreen:
