Lamo Saturday

October 30, 2010

I’m having the lamest Saturday known to student life. So I did sleep in ‘til 8:45am quite a lot since I get up at 4am some mornings. But the rest of my day has been me sitting on my sofa doing hours and hours of High School Coaching Fundamentals Class on the internet.

I was really thinking they were exaggerating when they said it would take 7-8 hours but they were being conservative. If I keep going at the same pace I wont get done for 10. Instead of studying for my BA I’m studying and sitting in coaching classes since Tryouts start on Monday.

Breakfast

We went to Sang’s Cafe, a downtown little diner that serves Mexican and American style food.

I ordered the California Omelet with home fries and an english muffin.

The California Omelet has 3 eggs, jack cheese, bacon and avocado. It was super cheesy and I ended up picking out some of the cheese but it was very tasty.

I ate a few bites of home fries but saved some room for half my english muffin with that Smucker’s Strawberry Jam over there in the corner.

It looks a little dive-y inside but I think those make the best places.

One of my favorite things about Sang’s Cafe is that it’s right across the street from our little weekly Farmer’s Market.

Farmer’s Market

There are two stand rows, one for produce and the other for crafts and stuff. Our little farmer’s market get’s a little sparse in the winter but they still have some yummy veggies. It’s so helpful that there’s a certified organic area and uncertified area.

Mom bought some beets and I tried to convince her to get that celery root to put in a crock pot beef stew but she was too intimidated by it’s “strange-ness”.

After the farmer’s market we headed home, I threw in some laundry and began taking my Coaching Fundamental’s Course, blarg-o-rama!

2 hours after starting I’d done two loads of laundry, which is now happily spinning in the dryer and I had completed Unit One of Five, not including the Course Evaluation and California State Test.

My brain started feeling fuzzy during my Unit One Test so I took a break after to blog and make some lunch.

I made some Amy’s Lasagna, some broccoli with spaghetti sauce and parm on top and grabbed a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Lara.

I was really stressing because I thought I had to complete the test online today but after looking at the exam site again I realized it expires on October 30th, 2011 (not 2010) wheew! I feel so good knowing I can quit after Unit Three and finish tomorrow.

I’d never had broccoli like this and I’m definitely doing it again, it was delish. The parm is a must!

Just a little dessert to healthily talk to my sweet tooth. The perfect ending to lunch.

Confession: I’m secretly blogging in procrastination instead of Unit Two .

I know I’ve been crazy absent from reading all your blogs for the last 10ish days, I’m so sorry I’ve just been running from place to place and reading for exams. I promise after this weekend I’ll get back to normal and reading all your blog posts.

Have a great Saturday!

Maren to the rescue! I was just craving veggies but feeling lazy and now I’m making broc with pasta sauce & parmigiano reggiano from Trader Joe’s. Thanks for the inspiration!

What a lovely day! Did John Steinbeck really eat at that restaurant? Ryan and I read East of Eden together…we fell in love over that book! Thank you for sharing your day with me. I wish I could have walked through that Farmer’s Market with you.
