Happy Sweet Friday!
How are you celebrating? Did you eat cookies? Did you eat pie? Did you eat cake?
Please tell me you celebrated! I live for Sweet Friday.
Actually I celebrated twice. At work today we were baking cookies along with pie. We had to taste all the cookies. I don’t have pictures because I’m not allowed to photo during work. Sad. But I tasted orange cookies, gingersnaps, mild gingerbread, date cookies (my new cookie love!) and Russian tea cakes.
I will make date cookies for you all. promise.
There was also a little chocolate chip cookie action. I subscribe to the opinion that baking cookies for a cookie party one must include chocolate chip.
no. matter. what!
Back to my treat. So I have this list.
It’s a list of things I really want to do before I die, or turn 30, or something. I don’t know the goal date. But I do have a pretty serious list which includes
running a half marathon, going to Italy and owning a dog.
There are big things on the list and small things like eat at a 5 star restaurant, drink coffee in Pikes Place, and own a food blow torch. Hello for making creme brulee.
Doesn’t everyone want to be able to make creme brulee on a whim?
Bring out the Starbucks Egg Nog Latte!
It’s been a dream for far too many holiday seasons. It’s been a resident of my LIST for oh so long.
I stare at it on the menu board every time I venture into the ‘Bucks between November and February. But I always shy away.
Reason? I DON’T KNOW!
Let’s shoot caution to the breeze and go for it!
Leave the healthy snack goal at the door. Forget the calories.
Omit guilt from your life Maren!
It was delicious. Gotta love flavored seasonal coffee drinks.
Why do i need the assistance of over-indulgent caffeinated beverages which taste like Christmas Joy?
I’m back to physical therapy after a two and a half week break.
Physical therapy is like a prescription for drugs. My prescription, written by my surgeon, is for 12 visits. When those visits are over I have to go back to the doctor and get a new prescription so that the insurance will pay for my PT. I had a two week break between my last appointment and getting insurance cleared to begin again.
My ankle has been killing me since Thanksgiving. It’s stiff and sore. I’m functioning at a 6-7 on the pain scale daily when I’m on it, 4 when I’m resting. I spend most of my resting time with it elevated and wrapped in my handy heating pad.
It’s still a little swollen but not too shabby for 16 weeks post surgery. I have 3-6 more months of Physical Therapy before I can hope to be 100% functional. But I’m making loads of progress.
I really wanted to go back to PT (it hurts so good) but was also sort of dreading it because it really does hurt. Thank you Egg Nog for pumping me up.
Do you turn to Christmas Joy in a Cup to get through difficult afternoons in winter? Obviously I do!
