Pepper Plant Sauce and Eggs

July 14, 2012

Happy weekend friends!!!

You all thought last night’s salmon looked delicious, and it was! I always forget how much I love salmon. I need to eat it more.

Thanks for all your sweet words about my new blog-look. I did it to remind all of you that I can redesign your blogs! I’m a cheap date… completely custom banners are only $20 dollars. Social Network buttons are $5. I’m also very snappy. I normally get your designs done within a week, sometimes a day or two. Click on over to get more info.

BREAKFAST!

We’re out of sprouted grain bread. I’m crying a little.

I fried 3 eggs, I was really hungry, in evoo and topped them with salt, pepper and onion powder.

HEALTHY GUIDELINE CHECKS:

  • 1st serving of healthy fats
  • 1st serving of tea (had a wake tea with soy milk before breakfast)
  • 1st serving of probiotic

Then I topped them with the holy grail of hot sauces… Pepper Plant Sauce.

This is a really popular hot sauce around these parts. In fact, it’s not uncommon to see it on restaurant tables next to the tapatillo.

I had my spicy-delicious eggs with a mug of Starbucks Via with stevia.

Personally, I believe every person in the 1st world should have a packet of Via with them at all times. It’s just easy, quick and let’s be honest… it’s really tasty and doesn’t taste like instant at all.

WORKING OUT

What do you guys do to get out of a workout funk?

I’m still working out, well I did take last week off since I’ve been changing my eating habits. But working out just isn’t as fun as it used to be. I have to drag myself to the gym most days and I have a little fit before each run.

Maybe working out is like anything in life, it comes and goes in phases. We go through phases of loving this and hating that, then before we know it our preferences have switched. Maybe I’m just in a workout aversion phase???

TELL ME ABOUT YOU! I WANT TO KNOW…

How do you cure the workout funk?

I need advice.

What is your favorite hot sauce?

Pepper Plant.

If you could have garlic ice cream would you do it?

No!

What are you craving right this second?

some greeeeeeen teeeeeeeea.

Oh man that sauce looks good… I love the spice in the am. I think you need to cut yourself a break, this past week on my business trip I barely did formal exercise, I ran only three days but much shorter miles and took it easy. We all need a break and our body will tell us when it wants us to return. I think maybe you should try shaking things up, instead of going to the gym, try a 15 minute walk or even a circuit at home. Maybe it is the environment that needs a little change? Just suggestions but you could always just wait till the exercise bug bites! Eating is a huge part of it and you got that down.

Thanks girl. I love your ideas. I’ve been trying to switch it up, hopefully if I keep at it working out will get exciting and fun again.

First off, love your new header. Let me know when your free for mine :)

The salmon From last night looks delicious.

I am in such a workout funk too. I literally had to drag myself out for A yesterday. Tapatio is the limit of spicy I can handle. I would try garlic ice cream. Ever time I drive down 101 I see the Bloomfield barn with garlic ice cream advertised I wants to pull over and try. One of these days baby. And what am I not craving is more of the question :)

Pinterest has been wonderful for helping me with my workout funks. I’ve found some awesome circuit and strength workouts that I definitely wouldn’t have put together on my own.

I live 35 minutes from Gilroy, CA (the garlic capital of the world) and they have garlic ice cream there. I refuse to try it. WEIRD!

I never would have thought of looking on Pinterest for circuits. Do you have a board of them or links to any good ones you like??

whoaaa garlic ice cream….YES! hahaha. But I wouldn’t buy it bcause I wouldn’t want to waste money if I wasn’t a fan. But I try all foods at least once! And if I do get too tired/fatigued and don’t feel like working out (which is seldom for me), then I change it up! For example, I do MOST of my running at the gym, so I’ll hit the pavement instead and I get probably a BETTER workout by doing that because of different terrain! Or you can try something else that’s fun and interesting. If you’ve always been curious about bouldering for example, then going to an indoor rock climbing gym is awesome too! :D And I seriously love your bloggie design~you are a master at it.
ps: I seriously wanna try pepper plant because I’m actually a spice to the core lover.

Such great ideas! Thanks Ellie. I need to mix it up and try new things.

If you like spicy food then you will love the Pepper Plant sauce. I don’t remember, are you from California??? You should be able to find it.

Ooo!! I’m always on a hotter hot-sauce hunt, where do you pick up the Pepper Plant Sauce?

And I completely agree about the working out phases! Nicely put :) Do you have a go-to song or routine that helps you get over your pre-running fit?

Are you from California because it’s made here so we have it in most of our grocery stores… if you’re not from cali, I don’t know. I’d try a Whole Foods but you can also get it online if you do a google search for Pepper Plant Hot Sauce.
