Hey guys, I’m thankful to say that I didn’t have to pull an all nighter last night and I’m feeling decently confident for the midterm. You can skip this morsel if you want to read about breakfast.
Simplicity
I realize that this quarter I have extenuating circumstances. I’m dealing with a lot. I’m rehabbing a new ankle, I’m being pulled in 5 different directions (school, coaching, PT, new job) okay maybe only four. But getting an A isn’t the end all. Sometimes getting a B or even a C is okay. I just need to do my best and there is no reason to get stressed out trying to be better than my best. This quarter my best probably isn’t as great as it has been in the past, but I’m okay with that because I know that I’m not completely focused on school. I struggle to just walk from room to room sometimes, of course I’m not as focused on school as I should be. Today I’m going to learn what I can learn, go to class and take the test. Will I pass? YES. But will I be perfect? NO.
Sometimes I need to just step back and reevaluate the situation, I haven’t blown off the exam or the class. This quarter is just a little bit different than normal. I feel good about how well I’ve prepared and I feel like I’ll do my best today.
Breakfast
Pumpkin Pumpkin Everywhere!
This morning I made Pumpkin Almond Butter Oats!
What? You say!
That’s right. Pumpkin Almond Butter Oats!!
I started by bringing 1/4 cup almond milk and 1/4 cup water to a boil. I added a pinch salt, 1 tsp brown sugar, splash vanilla. Then I added 1/4 cup pumpkin and a spoonful of almond butter at the end. Sprinkle a little pumpkin pie spice and some raisins on top and Voila!
I also kept with the pumpkin by making Pumpkin Spice Coffee. I’m always surprised by how great this tastes, good job Mama Pea.
All in all it was a very tasty breakfast, perfect for starting off Exam Day.
I broke into the oatmeal and about half way through my taste buds were tired of oats. I’m not a huge warm oat fan. I love cold oats or raw oats in cold things but warm oatmeal is very touch and go for me. Sometimes it’s great but most times it’s ehh. So I finished off breakfast with some Blueberry Brown Cow.
Now that I’ve breaked I’m back to the study session. I have ~20 artifacts and archeological sites to memorize and T minus 4ish hours to go? Oh I’m golden! See everyone for a relaxed dinner post…hopefully.

It was a huge day for me when I realized that I don’t need to get A’s in every class. It was so freeing. Suddenly I actually enjoyed school and was okay getting B’s and C’s. I wouldn’t even say that I learn less, I just stress less.
I found that none of my employers even cared about my transcripts or GPA. Unless you are vying for a full ride to grad school or something, I would definitely take the pressure off!
