Good morning Lovely People. Do you feel lovely this morning?
For breakfast I enjoyed one of my Lemon Blueberry Muffins heated up in the microwave for 30 seconds and smeared with buttah. I’m also sipping a combination of Archer Farms Breakfast Blend and Cinnamon Vanilla Nut with milk and sugar.
Comments on the coffee… I’m not hatin’ it that’s for sure!
Last night was the first Saturday Night in about three months that I’ve spent “out”. How crazy is that? A 23 year old sitting Saturday Night’s “in” watching movies and eating delicious baked treats. Oh yeah I couldn’t walk for over half of them so… I’m not a total loser.
I met up with Max in Monterey to watch the Giants game, they’re in the playoffs and WON last night. But aside from the game we had two amazing eats. There is a little place, very local, called Turtle Bay. I’ve been eating there since my age was only one digit long.
It’s a small taqueria owned by a very popular upscale restaurant, also here in Monterey, called the Fishwife. The Fishwife is over in Pacific Grove which shares a border with Monterey while also lining the little bay.
This interior hasn’t changed too much in the 15ish years I’ve been eating there. I always feel strange going with anyone but my Dad and ordering anything other than a Snapper Wrap to-go. We NEVER ate in when I was little. The Snapper Wrap is no longer on their updated menu, but it does appear on their Specials board once in a while.
While we surveyed the menu, I actually have to look now that my Snapper Wrap is forever missing, we ate far too many chips dipped in spicy salsa.
Since I munched so many chips I ordered a bowl, rather than burrito. I had the Tilapia Cancun Bowl which comes with seasoned tilapia, veggies, slaw, rice and purred black beans. It was huge.
But oh so tasty. I did eat every bite.
If I remember correctly the original comes with cheese, but I ordered this one without.
The best way to eat these bowls is to Mix, Mix, Mix.
We felt so stuffed after dinner but knew we could make room for a little Fro-Yo. My life philosophy is There is always room for Fro-Yo!
Our little Monterey self serve Fro-Yo stop, MyO will finally get the post it deserves.
Can I just pipe in, I’m loving the colors.
They had… Strawberry Banana, Plain Tart, Cappuccino, Dutch Chocolate, Pomegranate Raspberry, Pumpkin Pie, Vanilla, Cake Batter, and 2 others I can’t remember. So Many choices!
While I contemplated my flavor I looked to the toppings for inspiration.
After careful thought, I chose…
I think I’m going to be going to MyO every time I’m in Monterey this fall just to have this flavor. It tasted exactly like cold pumpkin pie. Holy Delicious!
I topped with raspberries, crushed walnuts, dark chocolate mini chips and milk chocolate chips.
I think if the cup hadn’t been so deep and my face would have fit, I’d have licked it clean.
Such a wonderful Saturday Night. I slept in to recuperate and am feeling ready for some paper writing for class today.
What was the best thing you did yesterday?

1. I love the new layout!
2. I am 20 years old, turning 21 next month and I don’t ever go out. I mean never!
3. I agree, there is always room for froyo :)
Thanks Camille! I’m still working on it, some more changes to come but I feel pretty great about how it’s turning out. I’m always nervous that I’ll like it and everyone else wont… glad to get a good review.
Love love love froyo! The place down the street just got pumpkin but I haven’t tried it yet. Your post makes me excited to!
Oh you MUST try the pumpkin it’s delicious. I recommend the milk chocolate chips with it too ;)

Looks wonderful! I love Monterey. Small local places like that are the best. I have a weakness for fro yo too… I think the self-serve places are totally a California thing, at least I didn’t see any while I was on the East Coast!
I wish I’d stayed in SF long enough yesterday to watch the game… it’s so much fun watching them in the bars in SF, everyone gets so excited!! We were driving last night and listening to it on the radio, and when the game ended we could hear people in other cars cheering along with us! It was great!
