You know that eerie green sky that hits right before the thunder storm? The air get’s all thick and I can always smell the storm coming… Well that’s how it is in our office today. Parves (the artist we print for) has just started another art show that will run from today to Friday and starting tomorrow the print orders will start coming in. So today is that eerie green and thick feeling, aka SLOW WORK DAY!
Having a slow day at work means lots and lots of blog time. Blogging in my life is one of my many jobs (graphic designer, print manager, babysitter, basketball coacher, and the best one BLOGGER) and fitting in time to do my blogging job is pretty hard when I’m really busy. I end up writing posts at 10:30pm because blogging is the most flexible of the 5 jobs I do. It’s so nice to have a slow day where I can write a few posts, read all your blogs throughout the day, and keep all caught up on my SD card.
For lunch today I kicked more veggie trash! ;-)
My Dad smoked some of his legendary Tri-Tip and I added it to a salad of
- romaine
- carrots
- red cabbage
- tomato
- cucumber
- red onion
- mushroom
- blue cheese dressing
- and crushed black pepper
Can you say Yuuummmmmm?!! This salad was so much better than my last failed tri-tip salad. The only thing it needed was a ridiculous amount of red bell pepper.

I’m soo with you. I love blogging and I love that it’s flexible but when life is busy it’s tough. Awesome salad!!
My blogging has definitely fallen by the wayside… I did TONS of travelling between the end of September and now. Now that my life is beginning to stabalize, I hope to crank out some much needed posts.
In the meantime, that salad looks INCREDIBLE. Send one to Sac?
Oh if I thought it would make it….. I’d do it today! ;-)
I’m not to the point where I think of my blog as a job yet, but it certainly is a hobby that I dedicate time to! I love when I have extra time to get ahead of the game :) And I could add red bell pepper to annnnything!
um, can you mail me one of those sandwiches because it looks absolutely DELISH!!!
I really love blogging and thank god its flexible because sometimes my life is so crazysauce that I need to be able to blog whenever I actually get a free moment, ha!
Minus the blue cheese (since I’m not a fan), that salad looks awesome! I don’t consider blogging a job (since I don’t make any $…I wish!), but it sure is fun, and I love the flexibility.
I don’t actually consider it a job, I just categorize it as a job in my life because that way I always get posts in. Think about joining Foodbuzz and placing their ad’s on your site. They are really awesome and its a nice way to make a little cash for your blogging efforts. Plus they are always offering some of the best opportunities for us bloggers. I got to review chili’s and bertolli pasta last year.
I totally want a slow day because I miss my little blog world! But spending time with family is worth it. I’m trying to work up the courage to go running outdoors in COLD Minnesota weather!
Oh good luck girl! The cold makes my ears hurt so bad and I can’t do it. Let me know how it goes.
DUDE! I’m not one to crave steak but every time I see your steak salads I want one so flippin’ bad! I need to make one SOON!
They are bomb! The blue cheese really makes it. I don’t normally like blue cheese dressing but on the steak salads, it’s a must. ;-)
Hey, that’s actually a cute racing t! Mine are usually big, white, and unintelligible. :-)
Thanks! I love it! I’m sure I’ll wear it to the “holey phase”…
Yum, that salad looks great!!! Hopfully you guys don’t get too overwhelmed with work! Just think, it is almost the weekend!!! :)
Cute race t-shirt!
Thanks girl! I can always count on you for GREAT advice. :-)
